I'm Back!

Hi guys, long time no post! Lately, I have been extra busy with life and fell behind on all of my bookish platforms. I was lucky to post my Goodreads review within a week of finishing a book, and my Booksta approached ghost town status a few times. By far, though, this blog is what fell through the cracks. I haven't posted in over a year! 

To give you guys a quick update - I'm engaged! (as of Nov 2024) Wedding planning is kicking my ass! 😀 Over the summer, I was lucky enough to be a MOH in one of my friends' weddings, along with concerts, graduations, birthdays, and somehow trying to keep my house semi-decent. 

I (finally) feel like I'm caught up on my Booksta, and felt it was only necessary to update the blog next for all 2 of its viewers! Reading-wise, I am being fairly productive! This may be because I'm not wasting so much time on Instagram, Blogger, and Goodreads. I just wrapped up my 2025 Goodreads challenge of 36 books! I upped the challenge by 12 books from last year. When I finish my Goodreads challenge for the year, I don't change it to more. I let the accomplishment ride through the New Year before my anxiety sets in again to meet the new challenge. 

I have seriously upped my game in the ARCs department through NetGalley. I am getting approved for ARCs I never thought I'd qualify for in a million years. I don't even have that many followers on Instagram. If you're feeling discouraged by not getting approved for ARCs you really want, just stick with it! Once you have more stats and reviews under your belt in NetGalley, you will start getting those approvals you're looking for. 

Ok - I think that's about it! Over the next bit, I will try and post as many wrap-ups/reviews as I can before life gets crazy again!

Choice Awards - Les's Version

Well if there was one thing (almost) all of the Goodreads users agreed on this year it was that the Goodreads Choice Awards this year SUCKED. I had only read one book that was a nominee. I read a lot of new releases this year and was disappointed not more made the nominee list. Many people had a similar feeling and even more were disappointed that several well-loved categories were eliminated from the docket. This was the first year I would be able to participate in the Goodreads Choice Awards and I had been looking forward to it all year and it really fell flat. So instead I am doing my own, I am naming my favorite book from each genre I read this year and telling you why below.
