Does this have the most original plot? No.
Does this book get cheesy at times? Yes.
Does this book resemble a Lifetime movie script? Also yes.


BUT YOU KNOW WHAT, I LIKED IT! The writing is great and the plot does not miss regardless of its predictability. Home Again explores the journey of grief and the strained relationships between mothers and teenage daughters. This book is one of those that you pick up when you just need an easy read. Maybe you're in a slump or want a book to fly through on a vacation. I was both in a slump and on family vacation and this book hit the spot.
I did not go into this book thinking it would be a work of literary genius. I think the blurb does the book justice regarding what to expect. Kristin Hannah has some hard-hitting historical fiction books, but this is not one of them.
Overall, I enjoyed the book! The plot had its slow moments but the heart-warming moments made it all worth it.

Choice Awards - Les's Version

Well if there was one thing (almost) all of the Goodreads users agreed on this year it was that the Goodreads Choice Awards this year SUCKED. I had only read one book that was a nominee. I read a lot of new releases this year and was disappointed not more made the nominee list. Many people had a similar feeling and even more were disappointed that several well-loved categories were eliminated from the docket. This was the first year I would be able to participate in the Goodreads Choice Awards and I had been looking forward to it all year and it really fell flat.
